FRS Consulting today announced its founder and principal consultant, Fred Sobotka, will present at the International DB2 Users Group conference in November of 2011.
Fred Sobotka, who is also an IBM Gold Consultant and award-winning IDUG speaker, will present “Real World XML Application Development Patterns for DB2” at the Clarion Congress Hotel and Conference Center at Freyova 33 in Prague, Czech Republic on Tuesday, November 15th, 2011 at 3:45 PM CET. The IDUG Web Team will provide a downloadable copy of the presentation for registered IDUG 2011 EMEA attendees prior to the start of the conference.
The presentation introduces application programmers and database administrators to development techniques that exploit DB2’s native XML processing capabilities, which IBM refers to collectively as DB2 pureXML. Although DB2 pureXML has been a part of DB2 on LUW and z/OS platforms for over five years, database application designers often overlook these features and rely instead on application-level XML APIs, which typically require far more round-trips to the database to accomplish the same tasks. As one of the world’s leading DB2 pureXML consultants, Fred Sobotka presents a variety of examples based on actual customer engagements.
